The first model of Amiga came out over 20 years ago, in 1985, and was named Amiga 1000. The 256 kilobyte of RAM for this first machine was more than enough for a whole generation, whether they enjoyed games or only watched them.
UAE is the real name of this emulator, which was originally developed for UNIX systems. The Windows version was renamed WinUAE. This is an emulator for the hardware of virtually all Amiga models (500, 1000, 1200, 3000, 4000) and its graphics chipset (OCS, ECS, and AGA).
WinUAE can emulate different types of RAM (up to 2 megabytes of Chip RAM, 8 megabytes of Fast RAM, 1 megabyte of Slow RAM, and 64 megabytes of Zorro III Fast RAM), four virtual floppy disk drives, four audio channels in stereo, serial ports, parallels, a joystick, and a mouse.
But take note! WinUAE does not include the Amiga ROMs needed to start the emulator. To use it, you'll need to find your own.
